Isn't it less expensive if I buy "direct" from the phone company? PDF Print E-mail

The simple answer is no.  Telcom carriers are regulated by the FCC which means they have to register their pricing structure and keep it consistent regardless of the channel.  Many customers assume that a since a telemarketer or outside sales representative is already "on the payroll", that the carrier can offer a bigger discount if they don't have to pay a commission to an agent.  The reality is that we are far less expensive for the carriers.  Most sales representatives earn a salary, benefits AND commission.  They don't pay us a salary, benefits, car allowance or expenses.  They don't provide us with office space, support staff, office equipment or supplies.  If we don't sell anything, we don't earn anything which means they have low overhead to keep us.  For this reason, most carriers don't give us stringent quota's which means we are NOT under constant pressure to make new sales.  Since we are very adamant about taking care of our customers, we will only take on as many new orders as we can properly manage.  Finally, since we represent multiple vendors, there is typically one or more companies who has a promotion or a cost advantage to pass along to you.  By looking at several options, you can feel comfortable that you are getting the competitive rate for the product and company that is right for you.
